Monolingual definition8/6/2023 I feel like I can't remember words as quickly if I'm trying to sus out what the definition is trying to tell me. People have strong opinions on this, but I almost never use monolingual dictionaries. You do, however, learn the grammatical structures of descriptions, which is useful in a way. I get what you're trying to say, but as someone who regularly uses a monolingual dictionary-an eight-year-old kid will probably often be confused by the definitions. Somewhat circular descriptions at times, overly scientific language, and unnecessarily complicated adjectives. But the most reliable monolingual dictionary for Spanish is the RAE, and this is how an "apple" is defined :įruit of the apple tree, of spherical form somewhat indented at its axes, with a thin exocarp, smooth and light green, pale yellow or ruddy, mesocarp with an acidic or lightly sweetened taste, and small seeds the color of mahogany, enclosed in a leathery endocarp With simple vocabulary in your target language R/RandomActsOfLetters Language-Specific Subreddits Afro-Asiatic Language We can't scour every thread for infractions.
